Cosmetic Dental Fillings
Composite fillings can be placed to treat decayed or broken teeth. Whether addressing newly diagnosed decay or replacing old amalgam (silver) fillings, our dentists provide a suitable procedure for both front and back teeth.
We use tooth-coloured, adhesive materials that bond directly to the tooth structure. Unlike some alternative filling materials, this adhesive allows our dentists to preserve as much of the healthy part of the tooth as possible. This approach can reduce the likelihood of complications and the need for further treatment following your dental filling.
Dental Inlays and Onlays
In some situations, there may not be enough healthy tooth left to consider direct composite white fillings. If this is the case, it may be possible to place an alternative restoration known as a dental inlay or onlay. These restorations use stronger tooth-coloured materials such as porcelain or composite resin. Dental inlays and onlays are made in a laboratory and are placed using similar adhesive techniques to the direct fillings.
Inlays and onlays provide extra strength for teeth considered more fragile or compromised. The dental laboratory we use is highly experienced in creating natural-looking dental inlays and onlays.
